(w/hood) and pants, water proof foot wear, hiking boots, wool, camera gear &
film, instruction manuals, sunscreen, bug dope (cedar oil is good), sleeping bag
/ foamy. A note on clothing: Bring something photogenic, as we will
model for each other on occasion. Solid bright earthy tones, work well. Don't
forget a mountain hat to cover your "mountain~ears"! You might like to have a look at my "Wilderness
Adventure Check List" for ideas and suggestions for gearing up to
prepare for ANY kind of adventure. It is a handy check list that
you can print out for your convenience.
10:00 -3:00 pm ~ Check-in, village tour, waiver signing, introduction,
itinerary review.
6:00 pm ~ Dinner at Mike Wiegele Resort
Evening Seminar: Camera equipment review. General preparation for
tomorrow's adventure.
7:00-8:00 am ~ Breakfast at MW Heli Resort
9:00 am ~ Helicopter Intro and departure for "Grizzly Hut" (in the
Monashee alpine).
Technical Seminar: Detailed camera controls and their effects,
"Depth of Field", shutter speeds, seeing and reading light.
"Walkabout Shoot" in the local vicinity of the hut.
Emphasis on composition and "seeing nature".
One on one assistance provided. Subject matter can include alpine flowers,
waterfalls and streams, landscapes, portraits, wildlife.
1:00 pm ~ Lunch at the "Hut" (Picnic Style, All meals will be
pre-arranged) Questions and Answers
"Hike and Shoot" to the ridge top. Photo study of alpine
flowers (incl. macro). Emphasis on composition, design and how to
achieve desired results with camera controls. Individual interests are
supported.
Evening "Firelight dinner"
Over night at the "Grizzly Hut" (Bring your
sleeping bag and foamy!) First class "bunk beds"!
Midnight "Star Trails" Shoot (optional)
Adverse weather plan:
Possibilities include: Macro photography (rain droplets, flora, fauna,
mountain streams). Seeing Light and how to apply it to Portraiture or
table top still life, Flash photography and "outdoor fill flash"
(how to). Basic color printing (in our custom lab, bring a few
negatives you would like to blow up!) Dinner at Mike Wiegele Heli
Resort. First Class!
"Sunrise to Sunset Shoot"
5:30 am: ~ Sunrise silhouette shoot of chalet and surroundings.
Morning "Free Shoot"
Noon ~ Departure for Lodge for lunch and regroup.
2:00 pm ~ Canoeing at "Mud Lake" (Parbury Falls-Conservancy-Tarrant
Island-sunset shoot)
8:00 pm ~ Late Campfire Dinner at MW Resort.
Film Processing submission
Accommodation: First Class at "Mike Wiegele Heli
Resort"
8:00 am ~ Breakfast Buffet at MW Heli Resort
9:00 am ~ Canoeing (see above description)
12:00 pm ~ Lunch at the Lodge.
Afternoon ~ "Free Shoot" and or enjoy resort
amenities. Horse adventure optional.

4:00 pm ~ Photo finishing arrival/review. Photography crit/suggestion
session.
6:00 pm ~ Dinner/Shoot at MW Resort Grounds
